Looking for information on parents of MRS. WILLIAM RENFRO. She was listed as sister in 1958 death records of ARTHUR FOWLER. Arthur died 4 JUL 1958 in Leavenworth Co. KS and was buried in Mt. Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, Leavenworth Co. KS. Barnett-Larkin Funeral Home representative in Leavenworth said that Mrs. Renfro's address looked like Wildesville or maybe ?Wildersville, TN. The record was handwritten. Mt. Muncie Cemetery representative said that ARTHUR FOWLER was born in Parsons, TN. Through my research, I know that ARTHUR FOWLER was born around 1893 in Decatur Co. TN. In 1913, he married Mary Ezekiel "Zedie" DUNKLE. The marriage record was from Henderson Co. TN. I am looking for the father of ARTHUR FOWLER. Thank you. Linda
Warning, this is lengthy. Re: Henry WEBB and wife Adeline "Addie" SMITH Webb, formerly of Henderson Co TN. I am a bit confused on Henry's name, HENRY M. WEBB OR M.H. WEBB. It appears differently in different sources. I have been working on family of Adeline SMITH of Henderson Co. TN for a while. I thought I would share this information. It may just help someone else. I don't believe you will find this information (combined) anywhere else other than the way it is posted to this email list. I have not verified all the information the lookup volunteer emailed me. I have interjected 1890 information on Lorezno Lea [notes: ?Lee] WEBB, son of Adeline SMITH Webb; Adeline's daughter Ella WEBB; and when family of HENRY and ADELINE WEBB left Lexington, Henderson Co TN, which is my research and not that of the volunteer helping me. Henry M. Webb, b TN, was son of Theodore Webb, b SC. There is some information on Henry Webb and Theodore Webb on www.rootsweb.com, family trees. Henry's wife Adeline "Addie" SMITH, b TN, was daughter of John Smith, b NC, and Emeline E. FULLER Smith, b probably Henderson Co. TN Emeline E. Re: John Smith and wife Emeline FULLER Smith of Henderson Co. TN. Does anyone know the identity of the parents of JOHN SMITH (b 1812 North Carolina) mentioned in the below? EXCERPT: "A Story of 1850-1851" by W. V. Barry, Lexington Progress, Friday, February 8, 1935 "Another matter mentioned by Esq. Threadgill was the fact that the late Mrs. Emerline Fuller Smith widow of the late John Smith and mother of Mrs. Jennie Watson, was a first cousin of the late Esq. James H. Fuller and that former outstanding citizen and Christian gentleman, who was the maternal grandfather of former Circuit Judge Watt H. Denison." ....the article continues about Esq. James H. Fuller. Thank you. Linda NOTES: Sometimes Judge Denison's name was spelled with one "n" and other times with 2 "n's". The information in "A Story of 1850-1851" plus other information, makes me certain that this EMERLINE (FULLER) SMITH was indeed the daughter of Jordan Fuller and Elizabeth CONYERS Fuller of Henderson Co. TN. On censuses of Henderson Co. TN, her first name was spelled Emeline. Emeline E. FULLER Smith was buried in Lexington City Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson Co. TN. Tombstone: Smith, E. The Dudley H. Williams Cemetery is definitely not Mt. Carmel. As described by Smith, you would approach the Dudley H. Williams Cemetery from Rock Springs Road. Mt Carmel Cemetery is approached from Union Cross Road. http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/will-f276.htm In the 1976 cemetery book, this Williams Family Cemetery is described as on "Will Scott's Farrn." I haven't a clue as to where it is. http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/will-f176.htm This Williams Family Cemetery listed in the 1976 cemetery book is in northeast Henderson County on the road from parsons to NTSP. I was there in 2001 but lost my record and a photograph of the cemetery in the 2002 server crash. David
Hoping someone can help me with the below cemetery. Where is it located? See end of this email. Is it the DR. DUDLEY H. WILLIAMS cemetery? http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/williams3.htm Or could it be the old Milam Cemetery, now called Mt. Carmel? A.H. Fuller was my grandfather. I don't know who E.L. Fesmire was. The first intial "E" maybe not be correct, microfilm was blurred on the first intial of Fesmire. Maybe some of you who descend from the Fesmire family recognize. The fact that these 2 people are on the committee would suggest that they had family buried in this cemetery. Thank you for your help. GOOD MORNING, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IF ANY FUNERAL HOMES WERE AROUND IN 1916 IN HENDERSON COUNTY? ALSO WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE PLESANT HILL CEMETERY THAT I MIGHT GET SOME INFO FROM? THANKS BESSIE
The answer to your question is no. However I may not be the best source. When Tamra Robins Philips referred to the cemetery she said "Stones", I took that in the plural since. Aunt Mae Harrington and Aunt Eltha Teague may have heard someone refer to the cemetery and may know of someone else buried in the cemetery. I am forwarding these notes to Aunt Mae in the hopes that she has some information to add. She is very internet literate and enjoys the study of history. I know of this cemetery. It is where Emeline Houston is buried, mother of Churchwell Gray Houston who was the father of James Troy Houston. To find it would be a great treasure for my family. According to my Grandmother, Lertha Jane Todd Houston if you follow the old road, now a field road, when it reached the hill behind Paul Robin's house it used to continue around the hill in a westerly direction to Lacy Branch Road. The cemetery is to the right (north) of the old road. They would visit the cemetery on the way to visit the Teague's on Lacy Branch Road. When I asked Paul Robins (before he died) about the location of the cemetery he said it was between the field road behind his house to the west and behind his daughter Tamera Philips to the South and east. Dad, mom, Tamera's daughter Alishia Phillips, and I looked for the cemetery in the area described by Paul Robins. I remember talking about the cemetery with Aunt Mae Harrington but honestly can't remember if she went with us on the hunt. We did not find the cemetery. Tamera said she remembered when she was growing up that there had been some tombstones. We looked down the slope in hopes that the time and weather had moved them, but we had no luck. I have read that the cemetery is located on T. Whites farm, which is the location indicated on the map that you forwarded. I have not looked on T. White's farm. T. White has passed, Dad has passed, Paul Robins has passed. The people I know who either have visited the cemetery or were told exactly where the cemetery is have either passed or are no longer physically able to help locate the cemetery. I would be glad to donate time to the cause with the help of someone who would also be of interest.
