It was a nice day in late afternoon. There were billowing clouds and some thunderheads all around the horizion, the sun was blocked by the clouds, and there was a nice breeze. I updated the southern section of Lexington Cemetery, then decided to do the remainder. When I went to revise the files, I discovered that at some time I had overwritten the files for the Lexington Cemetery sections with interim files used when generating the merged list. All marker information was available but the bad files looked funny. I should have the bad files replaced in a couple of days. Let me know when you discover stupid stuff like this! David
http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/ A milestone of sorts I guess. I finally finished the second cemetery page. I began the page in October 2002 after school server crashes in March and April (at the same time as my father's stroke) ate 80 checked and updated cemeteries. Almost everything lost for Henderson Co. has been redone. One cemetery not redone is Hayes. I cheched it in fall of 2001 but it was so overgrown in Spring 2004 that I did not redo it. I think the cemetery I hated redoing most was Oak Grove east of Lexington. Newest additions are Jonathan Smith's 1996 record of the Hall Cemetery and 2004 updates of Palestine, Palestine Pentecostal, and Waller-Douglas. Most active cemeteries have been updated in recent years -- Natchez Trace State Park area about 1999, Scotts Hill area about 2001, eastern Henderson Co. about 2003, Lexington Cemetery 2003, and western Henderson Co. and Sardis areas mostly in 2004. Most small, inactive cemeteries are copied from the 1976 cemetery book (it does not have a copyright) . In most cases I do not know how to find these cemeteries. I would like to thank Joy Beth Campbell, Glenda Parchman, Jonathan K. T. Smith, and others who provided cemeteries. David
http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/inde.htm I promised this cemetery three months ago but never finished typing it. Independence is a large cemetery in western Henderson Co. which serves both the Poplar Springs community in Henderson Co. and the Claybrook and Law communities in Madison Co. David

Hi Rex, Sorry I don't know anything about your Daniel....I'm not actually a CAREY researcher. I was wondering if you know anything about a William E CAREY b abt 1839 who married a Mary b abt 1838. They, too, lived in Henderson Co and ended up in AR. My interest in the above comes from wanting to know Mary's maiden name. Thanks for your help! Sandra PS Do you have any idea what area of Henderson Co your Daniel lived in? I believe William CAREY lived in the Dist 2 area. >From: "Rex and Janice Carey" <rjcarey@ev1.net> >Reply-To: TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com >To: TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [TNHENDER] Daniel Carey >Date: Tue, 25 May 2004 06:42:59 -0500 > >Looking for info on Daniel Carey b. 1808 in Orange Co., NC, moved to >Henderson Co., TN abt 1821 and to Hempstead Co., AR abt 1851. - - - Rex > > >==== TNHENDER Mailing List ==== >To unsubscribe send the message unsubscribe to >TNHENDER-l-request@rootsweb.com > _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself with the new version of MSN Messenger! I am not related to them. I have played with the Essary family of the Chesterfield community and have generated printouts from my database a couple of times. Several weeks ago I placed madison County TNGenWeb up for adoption so I could reduce my time commitment to it. I left all the files online because I always intended them to belong to TNGenWeb. The new CC will be moving Madison County to Rootsweb. Over the last 24 hours I have been moving most of the files to TNGenWeb Records. Jonathan Smith's Death Notice abstracts from the Western Weekly Review, formerly at Madison County TNGenWeb, are now at http://www.tngenweb.org/records/williamson/ Laurel has sent six files for the small third volume. I hope to get them online late next week. They too will appear at the address above. David soon-to-be-ex-CC Madison County TNGenWeb
