    2. Brenda, "re: "I don't have a paid deal to look at census", post a message on rootsweb.com, on Perry Co TN, Decatur Co. TN, and Henderson Co. TN message boards. In subject line: lookup 1870 census please Stephen and his last name or whichever last name you seek. There is usually someone who will respond. The 1880 census can be viewed for free on www.familysearch.org, click search at top of screen, then click census on left side of screen and enter names you seek.

    1. Re: [TNHENDER] Mary Frances Stegall
    2. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~peddy/alliedfamilies-e.html       In the Decatur Co TN court minutes (vol 1 page 57, 60, 284, 357 and 397) Nov 2 1869 we find Shadrack Eason, Jr as witness to last will and testament of Shadrich Eason, deceased, presenting a copy of said will to the court. Stephen Eason and G B Davis were executors. Mary Eason was an heir with Stephen Eason as her guardian. April 2 1873 Stephen Eason gave bond as guardian of Mary Eason, of unsound mind and an heir of Shedrick Eason. Mary Eason died before Sept 3 1877 when Stephen Eason gave bond as administrator.       Shadrack Eason, Jr is a grandson, being the son of Armstead Eason, who died before 1869.       Sources: ISAAC EASON, SR by J B Bell;   TENNESSEE TIDBITS, Vol 3 by Marjorie Hood Fisher & Ruth Blake Burns, and from census records. From the above, it appears that Mary Eason, wife of Shadrack Eason, was of unsound mind and still alive in 1873. Might find her by checking 1870 Decatur Co TN census, looking for her son Stephen EASON (looking for Mary or Frances in Stephen's household.) Unsure if there were any institutions for the insane in Tennessee during 1870's. Try search on google.com for insane asylums 1870 Tennessee. Even in early days, courts required a doctor to certify a person was insane before sent to an institution. Check Decatur Co. TN court records for 1870's, if available. From the items I have read on Shadrack EASON, Anson Co. NC would be a good place to search in depth for STEGALL families: deeds, marriages, wills, newspapers. I would also check all STEGALL names in Perry Co., Henderson Co. and Decatur Co. in 1830 and 1840 censuses. I am not related directly to either of these families. Also, check to see if any STEGALL signed petition to form Decatur Co. TN from Perry Co. TN. Good luck. re: query Looking for information on a Mary Frances Stegall who married Shadrack Eason. Looking for her parents, I am related on the Eason side. But would like to find her parents and a birth and death date on both on them. Any information would be appreciated. Bagwell b. 1 Dec 1903 d. 5 Sept 1994?  He was married to Bertha "Peggy" Prichard b. 1909 GA and the family lost touch with them back in the 1950's. I haven't been able to locate Bertha/Peggy in the social security death index and was hoping to find out next of kin or where they are buried from Hearst's obituary.  They had one daughter that I know about--Bobbi. Thanks very much. Any help appreciated.

    1. Re: [TNHENDER] Hearst B. Bagwell obit Sept 1994
    2. From website: http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/lex03-all.htm Lexington City Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson Co. TN Bagwell, H. B., 1903-1994 (West) Bagwell, Infant, 1940, "Infant son of H. B. & Peggy Bagwell" (West) Bagwell, Peggy Pritchard, 1909-1948 [adjacent to marker for H. B. Bagwell] (West) "West" means the western section of the cemetery. I found no obituary for Peggy Bagwell in "Crossing the Dark River" by Brenda Kirk Fiddler, nor for any BAGWELL. The book ends with 1952. If all else fails, suggest you contact funeral homes to see if they have information on Hearst Bagwell; 1994 is not that long ago. Often funeral homes have information about survivors, family members, etc. Pafford Funeral Home 71 Monroe Avenue Lexington, TN 38351 (731) 968-2544 Fax: (731) 968-2546 <A HREF="http://www.paffordfuneralhome.com/">www.paffordfuneralhome.com</A> and/or Reed's Chapel 302 W Church Street Lexington Tennessee 38351 Phone: (731) 968-3643 re: Could someone please check the Lexington, TN newspaper for an obituary on Hearst B.
