    1. Descendants of Harvey M. Alexander (1850) & Melinda Jane Mainord (1852)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Alexander Mainord Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AgB.2ACE/319 Message Board Post: I'm a great-great-grandson of Harvey M. Alexander & Melinda Jane Mainord. I have no clue who Harvey M.'s parents were, although I think they were from Mecklenburg, North Carolina. Melinda Jane Mainord's parents were Aldridge Alphis Mainord and Alice Jane Allison from Madison County, TN. Harvey & Melinda both had 8 children together and from there I know there are many descendants. John Vinson was one of their sons (and he's my great-grandfather). So far, the only family members I can make contact with is the descendants of my grandfather and one of his brothers. I have an online family tree that's looking to clear up a lot of blanks. I'm actually getting more on the Mainords than the Alexanders (which isn't a bad thing, the Mainords are family too, but I'd like a lot more Alexander info). I'd be willing to share anything that I know of John Vinson's descendants (which is a lot already). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Scott Alexander Lakeland, FL

    1. Beech Lake
    2. Does anyone know when Beech Lake in Lexington, TN, was constructed? If in the last 25 yrs., I am looking for the environmental impact study (EIS) made of the site before construction started. These reports are filed with the State, county, city (public library) and other agencies, as well as kept on record with the Beech River Watershed Association. These studies record all structures and cemeteries (with photos) impacted by the lake and their disposition. I am wondering if any cemetery is under the lake. I am looking around eight graves of one of my lines. I believe they would have all been buried in same location or cemetery. Any information you can give me on the Beech River Watershed Association is greatly appreciated. What does it do? I am looking for FULLER cemetery that is supposed to be on the Beech River Watershed as identified in the Harris book on HeCoTn cemeteries. No names were listed. Thank you. Linda

    3. Is anyone researching the Patterson families of Hawkins County? I am particularly interested in Alexander Patterson, father of (at least) Lewis C. and George W. Patterson, and possible husband of Betsy Christian, daughter of Lewis and Peggy Christian. Alexander was born in the late 1700's, probably in North Carolina. May have had a brother named John. Any help piecing these families together would be much appreciated. Sincerely, Doug Powers

    1. Levi McEwen b 1825
    2. Carroll County Democrat Huntingdon, Tennessee Friday, April 5, 1895 Huntingdon’s Mayor After an illness of six weeks, LEVI MCEWEN, mayor, one of our oldest and highly respected citizens, died at his residence on Nashville Street, at 8L00 from consumption, age 69 years. His death was not unexpected. He quietly went to sleep with his wife, son and daughter, and other relatives gathered around. Mayor McEwen was born in Henderson County 1825, and during his residence in that county, held the offices of sheriff and county court clerk for a number of years. He moved here in 1870 and was prominently identified in business interests until 1888 when he was chosen mayor of this town, which he has filled most efficiently. He was married in 1848 to MISS FRANCES THOMAS, who survives him. To this union, four children were born, two of whom, MRS. ELLEN ALGEE and JOHN D. MCEWEN, are living, the other two died some years ago. He was a man of high character… Burial service was conducted at residence yesterday afternoon at 3:30, by REV. J. W. WATERS, burial at Clark cemetery. All business houses were closed.
