Re: Fuller DNA project as it relates to Henderson County, TN Since there are currently members of FULLER family living in Henderson Co TN and who descend from the JONES FULLER mentioned below, I am posting this information from the Ezekiel Fuller email list, rootsweb.com. A copy of 1st edition "Early Southern Fullers" and 2nd edition "Early Southern Fullers" can be found at the Everett Horn Library, Lexington, Henderson Co. TN; and 2nd edition ESF is available at the Jackson/Madison County, TN, library, in Jackson, TN. Linda >From Ezekiel Fuller email list, rootsweb.com Here is what the Fuller DNA Project has accomplished to date: Confirmed that Ezekiel Fuller of the Isle of Wight and John Fuller of Maryland (the Henry & Nehemiah line) do NOT share a common Fuller ancestor on their direct male line of descent. Confirmed that Ezekiel Fuller of the Isle of Wight and Edward and Samuel Fuller, signers of the Mayflower Compact, do NOT share a common Fuller ancestor on their direct male line of descent. Testing has connected several brick-wall Fuller lines listed in the "Unconnected Fullers" section of "Early Southern Fullers" - the Jones Fuller line, the Ezekiel Fuller b. 1801 line and the William Harrison Fuller line. A fourth line not listed in the book, that of Benjamin Franklin Fuller also connects. This data is very helpful to those who previously did not have a place in which to focus their search. Each person that tests and matches, whether they are brick-walled or not, helps by adding to the database in our search for where Ezekiel came from and who is descended from him. Has anyone looked at the below papers in Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville, TN? Jones, K.C. "Kelly" Personal papers and records from 1888 to 1978 now in state archives If so, can you tell me what is included, especially the years 1888-1900? G. Tillman Stewart of Henderson Co. TN, mentioned these papers as suggested reading when he wrote the history of Henderson Co. TN, published by Memphis State University, now University of Memphis. Mr. Stewart's work is online at www.tnyesterday.com. Thanks, Linda
Since you are at a brickwall, might try some of these websites: The Miscellanys by Jonathan K. Smith on Henderson Co. TN have a wealth of some early information, each Miscellany has an index, there are some deeds from 1850's, below is web address:' http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/ Check on Madison Co. TN website, newspapers for dates you need. I found quite a bit on some of my ancestors in those early newspapers, most exciting was in 1832 all the heirs of my ancestor and I found some items during 1850's. http://www.tngenweb.org/madison/ Newspapers of Carroll Co. TN reported some Henderson Co. TN news and deaths. Two fires at Henderson Co. TN courthouse make research challenging.

There wasn't a will as far as I could find in the Henderson County records, Joshua isn't listed in any of the cemeteries in the county and neither can I find any deed activity involving him. I believe my 3rd great grandfather, Thomas Parker Presley, is that oldest son, but have been unable to locate any documentation that specifically establishes that, merely the 1870 census with Thomas living in Henderson with an age that matches. Thomas and family ended up settling in Dyer County. Participation in the Presley-Pressley DNA Surname Project has revealed 25/25 marker matches with several known descendants of the Johannes Valentin Pressler descendants who settled in Anson County (as well as a 36/37 and 34/37 marker match).
Re: BIBB 1836/1837 Tax List of Henderson Co. TN There was no one with name of BIBB listed on the list I have access to. This doesn't necessarily mean no BIBB was living there during this time; it only means no one with that surname was on the list I have from "Ansearchin News" published by Tennessee Genealogical Society. I would search this site, especially the "Miscellanys" by Jonathan Smith: http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/ There is a lot of information there.
Searching for any information on a Garrett BIBB (they originated in Caroline Co. VA.) family living in Henderson Co., TN 1840 Census, which lists 6 children in the household, I've only been able to identify two of these. One of the daughters (Elizabeth Jane) married PK (Pleasant) Parsons, in Carroll Co., TN., they migrated to Greene Co. AR before 1880 with their adult children and their spouses, Mary/John King, Sarah/W.H. Harris, W.Thomas, single but married Cordelia Reed in Greene Co. AR. Fourth child was Luiza, no information except for census records, she did not go w/them to Arkansas. One of their sons, Benjamin Franklin BIBB (1850 census) lived w/Elijah Faulkner, worked as a farm laborer, 1851 he married Jane C. Pattishall in Cotton Plant, St. Francis Co. AR., they had three children while living in TN, then prior to 1860 migrated to Greene Co. AR., where were born seven more children. Benjamin and PK both fought in the 1846-48 Mexican War, as well as the Civil War, Benjamin for the CSA, Arkansas, PK for the Union, TN. If anyone has any information, the least bit of which will be most deeply appreciated. Thanks to all. PR Massey Bibb Family Genealogy

I am sharing the below information on DANIEL WEBB that I found while researching at a library in my area. 1- is the first item I found and 2- is followup of 1- from the actual North Carolina Society Journal volume. Linda 1 - Genealogical Abstracts from the Primitive Baptist Church 1836-1879 appeared in The North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal, Volume XXXI, No. 3 The following individuals have a Tennessee connection. . . . . DANIEL WEBB, Henderson County, Jan. 27, 1838 SOURCE: Ansearchin News, Vol. 53, Spring 26, page 47 - published by Tennessee Genealogical Society. 2 - Jan. 27, 1838, Tennessee, Henderson county, March 6th, 1837 . . . . .I am in my fifty-eighth year, have been a Baptist forty-four years . . . . DANIEL WEBB. SOURCE: The North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal, Volume XXXI, No. 3 NOTES: Regarding 2 - In same Society Journal was this information about publications of Primitive Baptist Church: "The Primitive Baptist" was an organ of the Primitive, or Old School, Baptist church between 1835 and 1879. It appears to have been replaced shortly afterward by "ZIONS LANDMARK." ADDITIONAL, verify all below dates before using: DANIEL WEBB stated he had been a Baptist for 44 yrs. thus - 1838 minus 44 yrs = 1794; - 1838 minus his age of 58 = 1780, Daniel's approximate date of birth; - 1794 appx. date he became Baptist minus 1780 appx date of birth: Daniel became a Baptist about the age of 14 yrs. - Is this Daniel WEBB the father of Francis Hopkins WEBB of HeCoTn, who married BUTLER?

Sharing the below regarding family search, I thought some on this list would enjoy reading. Linda AUTHOR UNKNOWN. We Are The Chosen We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again to tell the family story, and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us, "Tell our story!" So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors, "You have a wonderful family; you would be proud of us." How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say. It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who l am and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying, "I can't let this happen." The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish, how they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family. It goes to deep pride that the fathers fought and some died to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. It is of equal pride and love that our mothers struggled to give us birth. Without them we could not exist, and so we love each one, as far back as we can reach. That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do. With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are they and they are the sum of who we are. So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take my place in the long line of family storytellers.

Good morning Linda, Your e-mail sent me in a bunch of different directions this morning. Not that I have much luck staying on a single track anyway. I thought I was familiar with No. Cal. geography, but I can't place a community of Dorrington. I do place that as a first name of one of the many PATTON's I have been working on. I have copies of his company muster roll and a pay roll for service in was of 1812. Your mention of the Bonham, TX region set off a spark in my mind that I wanted to check out. I have a book on BONHAM that mentions 4 or 5 FULLERS, but they are all in 1500-1600's as early emmigrants to this country and dissappear when Hannah FULLER maried Nicholas BONHAM in 1658. It then follows the BONHAM family, a branch of which went to TX area. The only other FULLER I could come up with is an Albert that married a Quay PEERY, probably in Marietta, Love , OK. I do not seen to be able to find much information on Al right now, but have contact with one of his sons in Battle Mtn., NV It is really nice outside and I have a major yard project in progress, so I had better get with it - again. Hope these tidbits make some sense. If there might be anything that connects to BONHAM, I'll be happy to see what I may have. Feel free to share my e-mail with your Dorrington partner... Many of the other names you mentioned are familiar to me having followed Henderson/Decatur Co. genealogy. Who was it that split Scotts Hill into two counties anyway? ss ----- Original Message ----- From: <LFLENT@aol.com> To: <TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 28, 2006 9:47 PM Subject: Re: [TNHENDER] Black Bottom Road > My FULLER colleague in No. CA, near Dorrington, descends from Jordan FULLER b > Franklin Co. In 2000, I visited Dick Timberlake who lived in the old family home west of Timberlake Station. I was researching SMALLs and they and some Timberlakes intermarried. While driving around the area, pointing out this and that, He told me about Timberlake Stop. The Timberlakes were large, well to do landowners and sold some land for the right of way but there was a condition to the sale. The railroad was required to stop twice daily at Timberlake "stop" so the Timberlake kids (And any others in the area, no doubt) could ride the train to and from school in Lexington. There was never an actual station there -- just a bench with a cover over it for a time. Since it was an official stop, it was designated by the railroad on maps of the area and is still seen on some recent state highway maps. It was just north of the intersection of Rte 22 and the east west road that goes by the old Timberlake home. Hope this helps a little.
