re: query Does anyone know where the store Duckie's is located, the exact town, I believe near Saltillo or Sardis, Tennessee and do you know if the store is online. I would email the editor of "The Lexington Progress". If anyone would probably know if this store is still around it would be Mr. Reed or one of the newspaper's staff. Website is www.lexingtonprogress.com I believe it lists the email address for either or both the newspaper and the editor of the newspaper on the above website. Mr. Reed has helped me with several of my questions. Good luck. WHAT IS gc-gateway@rootsweb.com email address, every time I try to reply, it is returned as no such address? see below: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com (gc-gateway@rootsweb.com) Sender: tnhender-bounces@rootsweb.com Reply-to: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com, tnhender@rootsweb.com To: TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com

You're welcome and hope you find Hezekiah! John Searching Hart's, Browns, Austins, and related families in Scott's Hill, Henderson Co.
John, Thank you for the look-up. I think this could, possibly, be my Hezekiah Reaves. Comparing this new-found 1900 US Census from KY to the 1880 Census from Decatur County TN, we could assume this is not my Hezekiah or we could say he was running from a past he wanted to cover-up. He changed his name, all the children shown in the 1900 home were born after the 1880 census and the new wife is 14 years younger than he and 17 years younger than the 1880 wife. Hezekiah's father Richard E Reaves lived next door to him and died abt 1890 but we don't know where Hezekiah went after the 1880 census so it is reasonable to believe this is him. Sometimes the 40ish man is very unstable and that is not specific to any advancement in technology but is depicted in almost all generations. The first wife could have died but if this is my Hezekiah, why would he have changed his name because he did indicate he was able to read and write. Who would know?????? Unfortunately, the lazy enumerator from the 1880 census was not thorough on the names so we must guess at the given names of the children. I think the best plan would be to go after the Reaves children (SL 1868-F, A 1870-F, RG 1871-M, MJ 1874-F, E 1877-F) because Hezekiah is probably the man you have found but the available source material can't support that assumption. The Ruben Rives is the most compelling reason to assume this is my Hezekiah in KY. Again, Thank you John for your effort! I sincerely appreciate it, Billy F Reeves ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Blair" <jcblair77@btinternet.com> To: <tnhender@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 08, 2007 1:59 AM Subject: Re: [TNHENDER] Hezekiah B Reaves > > A possibility? 1900 census > > Name: H R Rives > Home in 1900: Longview, Christian, Kentucky > Age: 55 > Estimated birth year: abt 1845 > Birthplace: Tennessee > Relationship to head-of-house: Head > Spouse's name: M B > Race: White > Occupation: View image > Neighbors: View others on page > Household Members: Name Age > H R Rives 55 > M B Rives 41 > Margaret Rives 18 > Howard P Rives 13 > Wyatt Rivers 14 > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNHENDER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
There is also a Reuben Rives in Christian Co. KY, born 1872 in Tennessee that would or could match your R.G. Reaves (son of Heze) on the 1880 census in Decatur. John

I need assistance locating Hezekiah B Reeves. The last residence I have is at Decatur County 12 District US Census 1880. I have not been able to find him on any records past that date (1880 Census). He was born in 1847 in Henderson County TN. Any help will be appreciated. Billy Reeves

Entries for Jack's Creek seem to start in 1828 and go to about 1888 or at least that is all I looked at. If you are interested some names in particular I can look them up in the index but could not tell you what is said about them in the records. Reply to psholley at yahoo.com.
A search on familysearch.org, website of Mormon FHL, shows a microfilm for Jack Creek Baptist Church, years 1831 - 1913, with only a PARTIAL index of the records. Here is the microfilm number: FHL US/CAN Film 978758 Item 2 This church was probably at one time located in Henderson Co. TN, but later it probably was located in Chester Co. TN, part of the land Henderson Co. TN was forced to give to form Chester Co. TN. To anyone who is using the anonymous service on ancestry.com, we on this list can not reply back to you. This includes the query from stemmatis.

If the below letters from HeCoTn to Anson Co. NC are on the Henderson Co. TN website, I missed them. I read everything even if not related to my family; sometimes a source gives good background information. Below is link for anyone interested in reading.
