Henderson 1902 Archie Wallace Lee Henderson 1908 (Grandfather) My Grandfather's birth certificate indicates that Samuel was born in Bledsoe County and was a farmer, he was married to Mary Long who was born in New Spring City. I have no information on either of these individuals, except what I found in the 1910 census. I cannot find them in the 1900 census or 1890. I know that Fred eventually moved to Mercer Co PA, but have come up against a brick wall. He died in a mining accident in 1941, in the Grove City. He worked for the Pinetownship Coal Co as a coal miner, he was married to a lady named Daisy and they had a daughter named Evelyn. I have a copy of the article from the newspaper, but with no exact date or what paper. I have information on the decendants of Myrtle, Ethel didn't have children and of course Archie was my grandfather, so I have all information of his decendants. If anyone has any information, please provide. I would like to present this to my father before he passes if possible. Help is appreciated!

Re: Disciples of Christ possibly becoming Church of Christ. >From the website (http://users.aol.com/dishistsoc/) of The Disciples of Christ Historical Society in Nashville, TN, it says: We are a keeper of a living dream. In the early nineteenth century Thomas and Alexander Campbell and Barton Stone proclaimed a vision . . . . . .. Their dream continues to live through three groups of about four million members . . . . . .. The three groups of the Stone-Campbell Movement are the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ and the a cappella Churches of Christ Peter M. I don't know where you got your understanding and I am not saying that you are totally wrong. However I belong to Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church at Darden,Tn which was organized in 1867 and it's original name was The Disciples of Christ meeting at Mt. Ararat. if you have any documentation for your understanding I would be very interested in it. ----- Original Message ----- From: <LFLENT@aol.com> To: <TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2002 9:43 PM Subject: [TNHENDER] Disciples of Christ Historical Society > I am passing along the below website with the Index to "Missionary Tidings" > 1883-1919, Disciples of Christ Church Historical Society. > > It is my understanding that Disciples of Christ was Christian Church, later > Church of Christ. > > Maybe there is someone in your line on there. > > http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/texts/mt/mtintro.htm > > If you click "F", the J. I am passing along the below website with the Index to "Missionary Tidings" 1883-1919, Disciples of Christ Church Historical Society. It is my understanding that Disciples of Christ was Christian Church, later Church of Christ. Maybe there is someone in your line on there. http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/texts/mt/mtintro.htm If you click "F", the J. H. FULLER listed was born 1866 in old Lone Elm (now Chesterfield), Henderson Co. TN. His wife Mrs. Bertha Mason Fuller is also listed. One interesting tidbit on J. H. (James Henry) Fuller is that in late 1880's he was the city editor of the "Age-Herald" Birmingham, AL. Linda, CA
If you have lines that moved to Texas, you might be want to visit the below website to see if any of your names are listed in the Index of this book on Fannin Co. TX. It is extensive and there are many photographs. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfannin/fcff.html There are some families that once lived in Henderson Co. TN in the Index. One family was Dennison, see page 166. One of my Fuller lines is there also. Sorry I don't have more names, but I am still reading through the book. Linda, Yorba Linda, CA
Thank you so much. I will follow up on that. Looking for anyone descended from Josiah and his second wife Martha Conger who both died in Henderson Co. Josiah ca 1924 and Martha 1930. Hoping to find information on their children and possibly find info on her previous husband William McConnell. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Carol
I thought some of you might be interested in checking the index on this website for names of your family. http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/texts/wwarren/ccr/CCR21.HTM It is information about the 1909 meeting of the Disciples of Christ in Pittsburgh, OH. Not all speakers were Disciples of Christ. 50,000 attended from all over the world. One attendee was born in Henderson Co. TN (see end of this email.) There are many photographs. Not all people mentioned in the text are listed in the Index. It is long, but if you are interested in the history of this church, this information is better than any encylopedia. Linda J.H. Fuller in Index was: James Henry Fuller b. 1866 Lone Elm, Henderson Co. TN, died 1936 at age 70, Little Rock, AR, married Bertha C. MASON. He was the s/o James H. Fuller of Lone Elm, s/o Ephriam B. Fuller of Lone Elm, s/o Capt. Jones Fuller of Franklin Co. NC, s/o Solomon Fuller, s/o Ezekiel Fuller of Isle of Wight, VA. I believe J. H. Fuller has a street named after him in Little Rock, AR. His obit is in "Crossing the Dark River" by Brenda Fiddler.
