Hi folks, I am looking for persons who are researching the African American BOND families of Haywood and Madison Counties in TN. I have BOND's in my lines on both sides of my mother's family, but I understand they are not related. I have researched many BONDs, and have identified several relationships, but need to determine if there is any linkage with my families. Specifically, my ggmother, Sapphire/Sophia BOND (b. 1846) in TN, with brother Sam BOND, and sisters Gennie & Alice BOND. Alice BOND married Ephriam GRAY. Gennie BOND married Alec JORDAN. Sam BOND moved to Chicago where he died in 1948. Sam and Sophia's death certificates states their father was r father was Watson BOND (no birth information). Sophia married William JORDAN. She also had one son who carried the BOND surname, Ephriam BOND. (Her other children carried the JORDAN surname). It is very difficult to tell if any of the BONDs I have found in Haywoood Co. and Madison Co. are related to these. Also, my other gggmother was Emily BOND (b. abt 1835~). She married Amos GRAY. She had one son who might have carried the BOND name, Dave. Daughter Selie might also have carried the BOND name. There is a Green BOND that is related in some way to this family. Either of these families may be related to Haywood BOND. My mother remembered a cousin with this name, but we have no idea which side of the faily he may have been related to.
