Family tradition says that my ancestors served in the Civil War and signed up together. I have been unable to locate them at the National Archives and I have not found them in rosters provided on the internet. They all lived in Haywood Co. when the war began. Their names were Joseph Stokely and William R.B. Clements. Serving with them were brother-in-laws James Smoot and Daniel and Norman McLeod. Can anyone give me some clues as to how to find them?
