    3. NEW DISCUSION QUESTION, Reply to entire list by clicking on REPLY ALL, or what's similar on your browser. Similar questions about FUNERAL HOMES & BURIALS were received this week for both Haywood and Obion County. The Haywood County question concerned the funeral of an African-American who lived in Mason. The question was forwarded to Tipton, Fayette and to me in Haywood County. And we've found no good answer. 1. Need the names of Funeral Homes used by residents of Mason. 2. Please share what you know about funeral practices before the time of funeral homes as we know them now. 3. I'll put my "two bits" in later. Your Host, Jane Powell (see funeral home list below, additions appreciated) ESTABLISHED FUNERAL HOMES THAT I KNOW ABOUT. Brownsville Funeral Home records date back a good number of years. Also has records from Cox Funeral Home and probably some from Gilliam Jones at Stanton. Rawls Funeral Home, I have no information about their records.

    3. If you are searching for an ancestor or relative who died earlier in this century, check the following site. Several researches have found useful information here and the cost is very affordable, best I remember about $5 per record. The index itself has been useful to me in establishing dates birth and death dates for some co-lateral lines for which I did not need the actual death record.
