(believe her to be daughter of James Anderson TURPIN, son of Edmund of Sumner Co.,TN & a sister to I.H. TURPIN) ---Jonathan Thomas JACOCKS III (1844-?) (m) Arsene BETTIS (1845-1870) (believe her to be daughter of George Washington BETTIS, (son of Alford BETTIS of NC, Wilson Co, TN & ARK) and Drucilla WILLIAMS, daughter of Redding WILLIAMS of NC & Dyer Co., TN) ---Maggie Loudena JACOCKS (1866-1951) (m) Robert E.L. HUDGINGS (1865-?) both of Crockett Co. Thanks, lots-o-love, andrea w.

    3. Visit the links about viruses, cookies, hoaxes, privacy issues, and spam that are collected under "INTERNET STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW" <http://www.CyndisList.com/internet.htm>. If we all were aware of the material covered here, the amount of junk e-mail everyone receives would be drastically reduced. There is some much "good stuff" in the latest Roots Digest that I feel the need to keep sharing. Jane

    2. Dortha, I don't know much about the Hicks family. My Thomas booklet gives my gg grandmother (I believe, great, great), Sarah Hicks having married Benjamin Bass of Brunswick Co, VA. I don't know what her parents' names were. Seems to me that I had run across some more information on the Hicks, but can't remember right now. I had thought when I orginally e-mailed you that her father's name was Benjamin Hicks, but that may have been wrong. Sorry if I have led you on a wild goose chase without looking up my information and with just going on faulty memory. If I come across anything else, will try to get back to you on it. Meanwhile, good luck to you. I'm almost sure that I ran across information on Hicks on the web. The family also spelled the name "Hixs" or "Hix," too, I believe. You might check that. Also check Brunswick, Co., VA, and Williamson Co., TN, on early records of Hicks. You might find something there. Sorry I can't be more help right now. Milie

Family story is that WILLIAM B. HICKS was a gambler and left MARTHA and two children and went back Alabama,( ido not think W.B. HICKS or the PAGES were in Al) BENJAMIN HICKS and wife LUCINDA ?? and several children has not been found after 1850 cen. in Tn. I hope your BENJAMIN HICKS is also mine. 1. [TNHAYWOO-L] Link family surname
    2. I am researching the LINK family name of Haywood Co, and would appreciate if someone who has access to the 1850 census could tell me what LINK families were living there at that time. My problem is that I know that my Samuel Link was b. at Brownsville on 20 Jan 1840. His grandparents were Byrd and Avarilla (Morton) Link, but I can find absolutely no information on his parents or if he had any sibblings. Any information on this line would be appreciated.
