My ancestor Raleigh Dodson owned the land on the South side of the Holston River beginning where 66/70 crosses the river (where Dodson Ferry was then) and then East along Dodson Creek, past the TVA plant today, at least as far east as the Enterprise, Strahl and McCloud area. The Dodson Cemetery was created in 1831, but Raleigh died in 1793 or 1794, so clearly wasn't buried in the Dodson Cemetery. Does anyone know if there are any other old cemeteries in that area, their locations, especially ones that would be family cemeteries? He was a Rev War vet and I feel the need to mark his grave and honor his service in some fashion. Thanks for any help or lookups. Roberta Estes restes@comcast.net PS - His land was sold to the Breeden family is that helps any at all. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
