    3. I would be very interested if anyone has the cemetery/marriage records of Hawkins Co./or any other records. I am descended from David Lee Matlock (1730 VA-d aft 1790 Washington Co., VA...later Hawkins Co., TN)>son John Watson Matlock, Sr., b 1755 Pittsylvania or Henry Co, VA; d 1827 Lee Co., VA m Martha "Patsy" Lee Cox abt 1780 Lee Co., VA. Martha Patsy, b 1764 Washington Co., VA (later Hawkins Co); d 1845 Lee Co., VA was the dau of John Cox, b abt 1740 probably Goochland or Cumberland Co., VA; d aft 1816 Hawkins Co, TN and Frances "Fanny" Unknown; d 1823 Hawkins Co. S/o Martha Lee Cox and John Watson Matlock was George Matlock, b 1795 Lee Co., VA; d 1855 Hardin Co., KY m Margaret McKergin/McCurgen 24 Jul 1821 probably in Hawkins Co. She was the dau of Thomas McKirgan and Jane Lyons of Hawkins Co., TN. John Cox was s/o Frederick Cox (1687 Henrico Co, VA-1755 Cumberland Co., VA) and Elizabeth Woodson (b abt 1692). Looking for her parents. Looking for the grave of David Lee Matlock, wife I believe to be Margaret Rice. Cannot find where George Matlock buried...b in Lee Co, VA; lived in Trimble Co., KY and family moved to Greenfield, Greene, IL. He is not buried there. I have a Rachel Matlock, b abat 1848 as dau of Charles B. Matlock, s/o Joab Matlock; a Rachel Matlock b abat 1872 dau of Nelson Preston Matlock s/o Charles B.; a Rachel as wife of Newell Matlock s/o Luke Matlock and Charity Choate; Rachel E. Matlock b abt 1842 dau of George and Margaret McKirgen Matlock; a Rachel L. b 1842 as wife of Nathaniel William Matlock, s/o Valentine Matlock and Mary Bassett dau of Nathaniel Grover Basset and Margaret Armstrong of Hawkins Co., TN (this Rachel seems a likely candidate for the store) Also John Cox (Cocke/Coxe/and other variations) and wife Frances/Fannie. Canot find what her maiden name was... perhaps Lee/Lea as Martha Patsy has that as part of her name. My Grandfather was named Edwin Lee (old records say Lea) Williams and has been passed down in family. Their wills were recorded in Hawkins Co, but I have only snipets of them. Two daughters (Nancy and Elizabeth) m Sims and Katherine married a Looney; George m an Elizabeth; The Matlock/Hutchissons/Looney/McKirgens/Gonce/Watterson/Howell/Lockmiller/Erwin/Rhear families were all in Hawkins Co. Any info would be appreciated if you have access to old history/information/graves. Belonged to Presby. Churches. I, John Cox of the State of Tennessee and County of Hawkins, being of sound sense and memory, though in a declining state of health, do this sixteenth day of May, eighteen hundred and sixteen, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in writing. First. I desire after decease to be buried in a plain and decent manner. Item. I do give the following children one dollar each, (Viz): Patty Matlock, Nancy Sims, Elizabeth Sims, Sally Cocke, Katy Looney, Josiah and Absalom Cox. Item. I do give the balance of my property both real and personal to my son George Cox on condition that he takes good care of his mother and my wife Frances Cox during her life, except my sorrel horse colt. Item. I do give my grandson Russel Cox my sorrel horse colt. Item.
