Marcus; A TNSSAR Chapter is holding a SAR Grave Marker Service for Capt. Tom Amis, in Rogersville on June 20, 2009. Patriot Amis is one of 200 patriots that I have found buried in Hawkins Co., TN. We are very much interested in forming an SAR Chapter in Hawkins County but need some local support. If interested, please contact me. Bob Hughes, Past Pres. TNSSAR "Do not go where the path may lead; Go where there is no path and leave a trail"---Emerson Opportunities never come to those who wait...they are captured by those who dare to attack. There are 2 kinds of people, those that do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the 1st group, there is less competition there. -----Original Message----- From: Marcus McBeen Sent: Wednesday, April 15, 2009 2:30 PM To: tnhawkin@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNHAWKIN] State of Franklin TNSSAR Chapter Hello Bob, Just checking in on my application for SAR membership. Richard Smith posted the security bond. Going to jail did not grant a divorce. The Civil War pension files are full of fradulent affidavits. That is why they are important. Almost all of the affidavits are penned by very close relatives. There is probably more to this story than meets the eye. As far as I can tell from the records, Jackson Ferrell never married her. This is why you can't actually believe anything anyone said in these files without further research, including who they were related to. > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
