TNSSAR is finally getting some help from Rogersville. Watch us GO!!!! THE SAR WANTS YOU !!! if one of your direct ancestors fought against the British during the American Revolution, the Nationa Society and the Tennessee Society of the Sons of the American Revolution invites you to join our ranks.. SAR was incorporated Jan 17, 1890 and is a patriotic, historical, and educational organization. Goals include perpetuating the memory of the Revolutionary War, preserving our history, marking locations of the Rev. War events, and burial sites of our Patriots as we recently did for Tom Amis, encouring research, and fostering true patriotism. You must be 18 years of age with iineal descent from an ancestor who supported the war for freedom in most any fashion. Perhaps some member of your family has been a DAR or SAR member in the past. This makes entry into SAR much more simple with a Record Copy of their app. The Tennessee Society is interested in organizing a new chapter in the Hawkins and Hancock County areas. A name that has been suggested is the State of Franklin Chapter. New chapters have recently been chartered in Carter and Claiborne counties. This area contains burial sites for several hundred Patriots. For more information please contact Bob Hughes, Past Pres. TNSSAR, P.O. Box 3008, Jackson, TN 38303 731-935-1948 e-mail address: bandbhughes@webtv.net Additional information on requirements and securin DAR and SAR Record Copy apps will be supplied. If we can generate enough interest, we will hold a local meeting for further information. There are 2 kinds of people, those that do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the 1st group, there is less competition there. -----Original Message----- From: Joel Spears Sent: Friday, July 10, 2009 7:18 AM To: Bob Betty Hughes Subject: Re: Tom Amis SAR Grave Marker Service, 6-20-09 Bob, If you have a press release, or would consider writing one, that expresses your interest in establishing a TNSSAR chapter in Hawkins County, please send it to me and I will see what we can do for you.
