Jack, Yes, thank you, it is my mistake. Fisher's Creek would have been in the 1836 Civil Tax District 9 rather than Civil District 4. The top of Clinch Mountain formed a boundary between districts 4 and 9. It is Fishers Valley that appears to lie within the geographical area of the political Civil District 4. There were no Fisher surnames listed in the 1836 Tennessee Civil District 9 Tax List for Hawkins County. I have now found an email from Don Fisher in the year 2000 archives of the Hawkins County, Tennessee Mailing List. Don said that he is a descendant of William and Sarah Morris Fisher and that they had lived on Stock Creek near Rogersville.
