Cindy, have you cemented a relationship of your James Coldwell to my Thomas Coldwell? How do you say "'my' Revolutionary War ancestor"?? This is exciting news! Captain Thomas Coldwell (1740-1804) is buried on the old Coldwell/Armstrong, now Johnson, farm in Surgoinsville off East Williams Road in the bend of the Holston below Cox Island. There is a marble grave marker.
