Please just ignore these people. There are plenty of people who subscribe to this list so that they can learn about the people of Hawkins county and hopefully make connections. Cyndy
Tony, I for one enjoy the emails you have been sending to the list. I do not subscribe to "Distant Crossroads" therefore do not have the opportunity to read this information there. Even if I did subscribe to the DC quarterly I can safely say that 95% of the information published is of no interest to me. However, I do genealogy research in Hawkins County on 1 surname (and those families that married into this family) and therefore I am interested in Hawkins County genealogy and history. I do subscribe to the Hawkins County list, again for information that may come through on 1 surname that I research. Sometimes folks send information, such as you are sending Tony, that can be of interest to us and sometimes it has no meaning to us at the time. One never knows when a surname might pop up that we didn't know about in our research. Knowing the information has been posted to this list gives us the opportunity to locate it later. And, again, I must say that 95% of the information that comes through this list isn't of interest to me (at the time). If I have an interest later I know where to find it. It's interesting reading. I just never know when a piece of information will help me with my research. In the meantime, I use my delete key and off I go to the next email. I say keep posting the information because new people sign up on this list on a regular basis. These folks may not have the means or opportunity to join various web sites where a fee is required.
