My g gf, John Richardson 1819-1909 came to Washington County from near Hillsboro, NC in the early 1840s. He worked for the John H. Blair Stage Lines. He married Elizabeth Ellis of Hawkins County, July 4, 1846. He was a Mason. He was postmaster of Russellville May 1847 to April 1849. He and Elizabeth moved to Hawkins County sometime after the 1850 census. Her father was John Ellis and a large land owner. They purchased considerable land from Elizabeth's siblings I know all about their descendants and about their life in Hawkins County. I DO NOT know the given names of John Richardson's parents. The 1880 and 1900 census records say John's mother was born in NC. The 1880 census states John's father born in NC but the 1900 census says Maryland. I recently participated in the Richardson DNA test program and find (as I have long suspected) a very possible connection between my John and the family of another John Richardson in Hawkins County. This is John Richardson married to Retta Mann. They are on the 1830 Hawkins County census. Seeking any knowledge of Richardsons in Washington or Hawkins county this time frame. Is anyone researching Richardsons in this area? Please Note, I do not know his parents given names. I know all about their descendents. (relative to genealogy) I need to connect to the John Blair Stage Company or ?????? Thanks. Charles Ray Richardson Raleigh, NC
