Green--but it is common to find children living with their grandparents or uncles or aunts in this part of the country in the 1800s. My first thought would be that the Wolfes were the grandparents or that one of the Wolfes was the uncle or aunt of your James N Greene. For example, we have several cases of the death of a wife--the husband remarries--and then he leaves the children by the dead wife with her relatives--parents or a brother or sister. If you could find a marriage record for the county, it might give a clue about the story behind it.
