Palestine Manis was the brother of Clinton A. Manis--hence the Clinton in the line. Clinton Manis was murdered by Iredell Campbell Willis towards the end of the Civil War. Hiram was listed as Heron in the 1860 District 3 Census, but that was probably an error on the part of the enumerator. It isn't written were well and could be read as Hiran. Hiram married Louisa Manis in 1869 and then Cynthia Jane Walker in 1877. Then name difference--Louisa versus Eliza--was probably transcription error in the marriage records or a census enumeration error or she was named Louisa Elizabeth--you will probably never know for sure. These errors are very common. There was an Elizabeth Manis living next door to Hiram 1860 with Sullivans who was either 20 or 26 depending upon how you read the image. One problem that you may have is that people switched beteen first and middle names and nicknames.
