    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Absher, Abshere, Abshire, Alvis, Lawson, Mallett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3253.1 Message Board Post: This isn't my family, but Martin and Hannah were the children of John (Sr) and Sally Absher/Abshere/Abshire. They lived in Hancock County in 1850, Hawkins County District 2 in 1860, and some children lived in District 3 in 1870 (Ezekiel for example). Jack is likely to be John Sr or John Jr. John Sr would have been 68 in 1880 and John Jr would have been 40. The 1880 census age is unreadable. Naomi was Namoi Alvis who was a spinster in 1860. I don't know if Leanna was her natural daughter or not. Naomi had a bunch of kids living with her in 1860 as well. From the names of the some of children and her age, she appears to be the 1850 wife of John Alvis.
