William Jesse Lawson was born in 1879 or 1880, NOT in 1881. I clearly remember this. Bessie was born in 1899 and Jesse was 20 or 21 years older than she. I remember this because my maternal grandmother was born in 1900. As a child I remember telling Mom "no wonder Grandma Lawson looks so much older than Grandma Trent...she was born in another century." Mom explained it was just a difference of a year...not a century. This was reinforced when I married my first husband who was 10 years older than I. Mom pointed out that her mother's second husband (Hassie Elizabeth Long Gibson Trent; 1. Jesse Gibson; 2. C.A. Trent) was 19 years older and Bess' husband was nearly 21 years older.
