So far, we don't have any documentation containing his name except for the Stokes County census and records, and Hawkins County deeds in the late 1820s and early 1830s that refer to his place, and that of Washington and Lacey. What is curious is that Clement is never mentioned in Hawkins County except for a reference in a deed to Alexander Trent Sr which mentions that it was once the property Clement Lawson, and of course the reference to serving in the War of 1812. If we could ever find a reference to Burrell C. Lawson or Clement B. Lawson, I would be convinced that Burrell and Clement were the same individual.
