My great grandmother, Nettie, was born within 6 months of Jesse. Her parents are listed as Mary Manis and Curren Lawson on her death certificate. It should say Malinda if she was her mother. I haven't seen Jesse's death certificate. Do you have it? Curren could have had two cooking at the same time or Jesse could have been a stepchild. Thomas Lawson, Curren's son in 1880, stated in an affidavit that several of Malinda's children were not Curren's children. If we could figure out who Jesse Sr was we could answer a lot of questions.
