    3. Bob, My Grandfather was Alexander Ballard Sr. He is buried at Creech's Chapel, Whitesburg, TN. That may be Hamblen Co. tho am not sure and do not have my records handy. Alexander was a common sailor in Capt. Griffens Co., Continental Navy, Rev. War, born 1751 died 1839. Alexander was captured several times and the last time he was one of only a few suvivors. It took him almost a year to get back to his fellow sailors, he spent time in a prison and in hospitals. I have about 10 to 15 pages of info on him from the National Archives. Very interesting reading, our men and women went thru a lot during that time. Good luck to you.
