But, I think there may be a deeper connection between the Manises and the Daltons. Perhaps Matthew Dalton was related to James Dalton (Sr?). Pleasant Maner had changed his name to Pleasant Manis by 1860 and was in District 4, and was living next door to James Dalton (110--should be 90). Cynthia Maner had married James Yearly and was living next door. Apparently William Dalton had died and Sarah (Sallie) Dalton was still living in District 16. This seems to suggest that Pleasant Maner/Manis' wife Mary (ten years older than Pleasant) may have been the daughter of James Dalton.
