Manes or I cannot go any further back to see what part of the huge Manes families we have already basically connected people to. This is not fair not to be able to access them in some way.

I went down yesterday to help work on these records, the Archive Project is set up to preserve the old records, not to do genealogy. They have to be cleaned, sometimes steamed, straightened out, put in folders and labeled. Unfair to me would be to leave these old records mixed in boxes with no way to ever find our foreparents. The people in Hawkins county who are working on these records are doing a fabulous job, it is going much faster than expected because of the wonderful volunteers who have faithfully stuck with this project. They are a great bunch of people. I think we'll all be helped when this is completed, it is exciting to think of what all we may find when they are done.
