James Sizemore was on the 1799 tax list of Hawkins Co., TN; in Knox Co., KY by 1818; Harlan Co., KY, 1819; listed in Clay Co., KY, census in 1820; and died in 1824. A son John, born January 1822, had his biography printed in Goodspeed's History of North West Arkansas, originally published by Goodspeed Publishing Co., Chicago, 1889. Here is the first part: "John Sisemore, merchant and farmer, was born in Clay County, Kentucky, in 1822, and is a son of James and Elizabeth (Fields) Sisemore. The father was born in Kentucky (probably an error) where he spent his life engaged in farming, and died in 1824. The mother was a native of Tennessee, and survived her husband by one year. John Sisemore lived with a cousin until fifteen years of age, in Harlan County, Kentucky, after which he spent some time in Washington County, Arkansas.” Any informa! tion about this family will be appreciated.
