    1. Re: MORE LOOSE RECORDS - Judith Smith vs. Alexander Lawson and Martin Lawson 1835
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Lawson, Martin, Hinton, Owens Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3248.1 Message Board Post: It is a very curious witness list. We know that Alexander and Martin Lawson (who married Nancy Owens) were from Surry County, NC and were the sons of Thomas (deceased by 1820) and Sarah Twitchett Lawson. Wiley Lawson was known to be the son of William and Sarah Hinton Lawson, along with Isham, Elijah, Stephen, William (this was probably Wiley), and George Lawson. Sarah Hinton's father, William Robert Hinton, lived in Buncombe County, NC. Stephen Lawson was known to be living in Greene County, and Isham Lawson was known to be married to Polly Martin, daughter of Thomas Martin (deceased in 1819). I wonder how Preston Lawson fits into this? We know he was from NC. Was this the Preston Lawson who married Malinda Willis? Preston and Wiley Lawson show up in another court record together. So, they may be related.
