Only as Preston. Can you and David tell me who this Peter Jones was. 1878. Jan. 9th. Peter Jones vs Malinda Jones. Divorce. Hw co. ciruit court. Milly Jones of Hw Co. Peter Jones of Graniger Co. Peter states he was married in Hw. Co. about the year 1855. where they resided until about 1869 or 1870. Peter moved to Claiborne Co. and lived there until June 1875, when he removed to Grainger Co. where he now lives. Peter states that he begged Milly to go with him when he moved and she would not. She stayed in Hawkins Co. Peter wants a absolute divorce from said wife because of her wilfull and malicious desertion, and because of his poverty he is unable to bear the expense of this suit. Milly answers that she married Peter many years ago and bore him several children, was a faithful and obedient wife to him. His conduct towards her was harsh and cruel, he was quilty of repeated acts of adultery with various lewd women namely Veney Helton, Eliza Amix and America Willis. and other in a open and shamless manner. Milly states that she is now old and blind and under the protection of her son who is supporting and taking care of her in her age, poverty and blindness.
