But, I have never found any record which indicates that his name was David. I don't know which Peter Jones this was, but there was only one in Hawkins County in 1860. The census records indicate that he was married about 1835 not 1855. He is also found in 1850 Hawkins County living next to James Davis Sr. Again, the census records indicate that he was married around 1835.
