Isaac may have been in Hamblen, TN in 1800, he is not shown in the 1800 Burke, NC Census. His son James is shown in the 1800 Burke, NC and 1810 Burke, NC Census. Then both Isaac and James went to Tennessee, probably Hamblen County. Also looking for William LAWSON and son William LAWSON, who are shown in the 1810 Burke, NC Census living near Isaac and James MARTIN. It is believed that these LAWSONS also went to Tennessee with the MARTINS. There was a brief mention of an Isaac MARTIN in Goodspeed's History of TN as living near the town of Read in what was then Hamblen County, TN. Hamblen was divided up and parts went to Jefferson, Grainger and Hawkins Counties, TN. I think these are the most likely place to look for Isaac and James MARTIN and William LAWSON and son William LAWSON, because I think they all went to Tennessee with some of the SHELTONS, not to mention Benjamin HAWKINS and Washington DODSON who also were names in Hawkins, TN and surrounds.
