In an affidavit dated June 12, 1834, Alexander Trent states that he was born in Chesterfield County on March 29, 1759. He states that he was living in Bedford County, VA. when he entered the service of the United States as a drafted soldier under Capt. Terrill in the year 1778 or 1779. He states that since the Revolutionary War he has lived in Virginia and Tennessee and has lived in Hawkins County for the past 28 years. In a signed affidavit, Enoch Ausbern and Samuel Trent stated that they were well aquainted with Alexander Trent because they resided in his neighborhood. They believed him to be in the Rev. War. He was granted $30 per annum. Jane Trent also filed for widow's pension.
