My husband's father never talked about his father and never even told my husband where his grandfather was buried. Here's what I have, but there may be more children I don't know about: William Jesse Anderson 20 May 1848 - 17 Aug 1917 Born Hawkins Co., TN to William & Nancy Jane Stanbery Anderson, War Gap area. Killed in a slate fall in a coal mine in Laurel Co., KY. All of his marriages are recorded in the Knox County, KY, Marriage Books. 1st. Marriage to Mary Ann McFarland (b. abt. 1850, d. after 1876) Children James A. (b. abt. 1869); Lillie (b. 1871, married Thomas Johnson 21 Oct. 1894 in Knox Co., KY); W. E. "Bill" (b. abt. 1875). 2nd Marriage to Lucinda Humfleet (b. 1864, Laurel Co., KY). children: Ballard (10 Oct 1881 - 17 Nov 1970); Evan (?) 3rd Marriage to Mary Maynes (Manis?)(b. abt. 1852 in TN). Child: James (b. 1888). 4th Marriage to Francis Lyon Johnson (20 Dec. 1872-10 June 1939). No children, but she had a baby when they married whom Jesse raised as his own -- James Floyd Powell (3 Mar 1888 - 5 June 1974). Floyd was born in Sneedville, Hancock Co., TN. William Jesse Anderson and his 4th wife are buried at Warren's Grove Cemetery, Laurel Co., KY. Will have to send census info later -- time for work now. Carol
