As most have found out when working on Hws. Co. names it is easy to mix family members because of repeated use of same names. Keeping this in mind I will try to list some of what I have on Seth's son John bc 1795 died before 1856 Hws. Co., TN. married Celia Nelson bc 1976- died after 1870. List not in order of birth. 1. John Jr. bc 1830 m. Martha Gonce 6/17/1856 Hws Co. I have 2 dau. for them: Maise married Andy Manes and Susan m. Landon C. Manes. 2. Gilbert m. Nancy Gonce 1/19/1859 Hws. 3. Celia m. William Blankenbeckler 9/13/1862. I believe she married again after his death. 4. Lucinda b. 9/25/1835 died 1924 Boyd Co., KY married Anderson (Andrew) Fields Jr. they were cousins. 5. Pleasant m. Sally Goodman c 1838 Hws. 6. Nelson m. Elizabeth Stephens 2/17/1841Hws. 7. George m. Sarah Lawson 7/21/1844 Hws. and married Caroline Sexton 9/2/1857 Hws. 8. Nancy m. Carter Manes s/o Wm.(s/o Seth) and Lydia Lawson Manes 9. Elizabeth "betsy" m. Hiram Fields 2/16/1848 Hws. He was the s/o James Anderson Fields and Elizabeth Manes (d/o Seth) 10. Mary "Polly" Minerva m. John Roberson/Robertson 9/13/1862 Hws. 11. the parent of Sarah, Rhoda, Amanda and Latham Manis named in John Sr.'s will. I am descended from Sarah. I use the spelling Manes most of the time. Same family.
