Bert Lawson Bert Albert Lawson, 79, Route 8, Rogersville, died Tuesday, August 12th, 1986, at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Lawson, of the home; one son, Fayne Lawson, Kokomo, Indiana; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Sturm Lawson, of Whitesburg; one sister, Rosie Bowlin, of White Pine; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday at Colboch-Price Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Bowlin officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Fayne L. Lawson Sr. Services for Fayne L. Lawson Sr., 71, of 23 Southwest St., Lake Cicott, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Mr. Lawson died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in his residence. Born Nov. 7, 1931, in Rogersville, Tenn., he was the son of Bert and Georgia M. Williams Lawson. He was married on July 15, 1965, in Tipton, to Catherine Sullivan, who preceded in death. A 1948 graduate of Rogersville (Tenn.) High School, Mr. Lawson had been a sergeant in the United States Army, the Purple Heart during the Korean War. The retired manager of Macy's Supermarket in Kokomo had owned and operated Lake Cicott Grocery for 14 years. He was a past member of the Eagles, Elks and Moose lodges, all of Kokomo. Mr. Lawson attended First Baptist Church of Russiaville. He is survived by four sons, James Allen Lawson, Kokomo, and Fayne Lawson Jr., Dwayne E. Lawson, and Ricky A. Lawson, all of Logansport; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The Rev. John Dixon of Pisgah Church will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Crooked Creek Cemetery, Cass County. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral chapel ROBERT LEE LAWSON Robert Lee Lawson, 73, died at his residence, Lee Valley in Hawkins County, Tennessee, at 4:20 P.M., Sunday. He is survived by his widow, Nocie (Harris) Lawson; three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Bowlin of Morristown, Mrs. Dovie Bowlin of Church Hill, and Miss Lula Lawson of Lee Valley; four sons, Wilk of Lee Valley, Bert of Rogersville, Paul of Eidson, and Sturm of Morristown; Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 P.M. at Cobb's Chapel Church. Burial was in the family cemetery. The Revs. Hoyle Miner and Alf Green officiated. Nocy Harris Lawson, daughter of Riley and Nealie Harris, was born 5/9/1883 and departed this life 1/13/52 at 4:20 a.m., age 68 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She joined Cobb's Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member until death. She was married to R.L. Lawson and to this union was born seven children; her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss four sons, Wilk, Paul, Bert, and Sturm; two daughters, Lula Lawson and Dovie Lawson; 21 grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her passing. Sleep on, dear one, until we all awake in His likeness, and then we will be satisfied. In death her hands are folded, We're sure she's gone to rest, We loved her, oh, so dearly, But Jesus loved her best.
