The favorite year seems to be 1828. He married Elizabeth Gillenwater. I found them in Hawkins County, TN on 1 census and never found them again. I found a C.K. Amyx married to Eliza in 1880 and Cornelius alone in 1850 Parents could have been Samuel and Fanny or Isaac and Mary. I really don't know who his parents were. I have run into 3 sets of Isaacs married to Mary. Their oldest child, daughter Frances, married William Lawrence (or Laurence) I found them on one census in Carter County, TN, with daughter Kittie C Lawrence. She is my great-grandmother.
