I did a search for Esquire Williams and got nothing, but somebody sent me the Hawkins 1850 Census showing Esquire married to Eliza with a 5-year old named Looney. Then in 1860 it was Squire married to Eliza with a 13-year-old named Squire. I did another search and out of 28 Squire Williams', 4 were white, 2 mulatto and the rest black. I am pretty sure my Williams ancestors were white, but could have been mulatto if that includes an Indian/European mix. For the son named Looney (Squire) family lore reports his name as Luna and as Loon. Part of the Looney family went by Luna so I am sure there is a connection somewhere. My mother hit a brick wall years ago, so I am starting over again. I appreciate your assistance and thank you for the Absalum Looney Esq info.
