He has a revolutionary war record and states that he was born in Germany. There are ties to Lancaster PA. The Shadrack & John Monk line are said to be germans. Jacob Howe was in Claiborne Co. (near Bryson Gibson and Wilkerson Martin) & Hawkins Co. TN, then Lee Co., VA early 1800s then left for OH by 1840. The Howes have ties to Graf (became Grove) and Klepper / Klipper etc. a family has a name similer to Klepferine in that in german, a female record for Klepfer would be noted as Klepferin. The Winsteads married into these Howes. Martins had a Paschal Martin just younger than our Paschal Lawson. Kleppers are near Banks/Hennis Lawson in 1830 IN. Mary "Polly" Howe (grand daughter of Jacob Howe above b: 1813 abt. @ TN d: 1910.03.15 @ MO, Nodaway Co. Maryville - at 97 years of old age) married 1832 to Andrew Roberts in Hawkins Co., TN sec. by Enoch Lawson. Old Jacob Howe's son William married Margaret Comer. Coomer is a name in Pulaski Co., KY and Stokes Co., NC near the Lawsons and also German Comers in the Pike Co., OH area. Could also be McComber etc. but not enough information. OH, Pike Co. related marriages include: Lawson, Patsy Monk, John Mar 30, 1844 (possible widow of Edmund Lawson of Hawkins Co., TN. John Monk lived w/Paschal Lawson in 1850 and near the others in District 4 area in Hawkins Co. in 1830 and 1836). Monk, Larken Comer, Malinda Apr 4, 1844 (s/o John Monk of Hawkins Co., TN & Pike Co., OH). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
