I get the part where William and Russell seem to be the same person since William and Russell seem to be living on the same piece of property that that is likely listed in the 1860 census as belonging to Russell. But, you say that the court document lists "William, son of Thomas." So, how did you get to Peter being the father of William/Russell? Wouldn't this mean that William/Russell was the son of Thomas Jr. seeing as how Thomas Sr. would have been in his 60's when Russell was born? So, wouldn't it make sense that Russell son of Thomas Jr. was living with Meredith and later obtained the land from Peter either by purchasing it or it was given to him for some reason? Mark
