Shanks, born August 6, 1824; married Jesse Davis, April 15, 1841. She died July 12, 1900 and is buried at Cross Anchor Cemetery in the Baileyton, Greene Co, TN area. The Davises lived in the Baileyton area, but since there are so many Shanks from Hawkins County, and Baileton is so close to the county line, I'm hoping someone will know of a connection. So far, Elizabeth doesn't seem to fit into any Shanks family I've found in Greene County at the time of her marriage, although possibilities may be a Rosanna Shanks household or a Patsy (male?) Shanks household, both appearing on the Greene County Census of 1840. I can't find them in the 1850 Census. I've elimininated the other Shanks households in the Greene Co 1840 Census. Elizabeth J. Shanks and Jesse Davis had the following children in Baileyton: William S. "Billy" Davis, b.. 1842 Thomas Alexander "Alex" Davis, b. 1846 Joseph Robinson "Joe" Davis, b. Sept. 28, 1849 James Crawford "Jim" Davis, b. June 23, 1858 Jesse Emerson "Emerson" Davis, b.
