I have a number of inconsistent cites. Several -- referring to 1790 and 1793 deeds -- are to Hawkins Co., TN, Deed Books 2 and 3, respectively; yet the county was still in NC at that point. For an 1801 deed, after Statehood, I have another cite to Hawkins Co. Deed Bk 3, but surely that must refer to a diiferent series. For an 1802 grant, the reference is to Hawkins Co. Deed Bk C -- did they change from numbers to letters? And finally, I find a number of cites to "Hawkins County Deed Book No. 1, 1788-1800," which appears to have come out of the WPA project. In that case, does "Book 1" refer to the original record source or to the publishing scehme of the project itself? Any light on this matter would be appreciated.
