Now, regarding the note appended for Hezekiah Davis and Amelia Johnson, it should be that they had a granddaughter Nancy b. 18 Jun 1806 in Hawkins County who married Hudson/Hutson Fisher 14 Jul 1806-18 Apr 1847. Later in life, the widow Nancy Davis Fisher and some members of her family removed 1854 from Hawkins County, Tennessee to Jefferson County, Illinois. Nancy was the daughter of Lewis Davis b. abt 1781 in North Carolina and Sarah, surname unknown to me. Hudson/Hutson was the son of William Fisher and Sarah Morris. Sarah was the daughter of William Morris. William Morris left a will dated 22 Aug 1808 probated in Hawkins County. I'm searching for the identity of the parents of William Fisher and would appreciate any help in that regard. Also noted is that William Morris, although not listed on this 1790 document, opened an account in the Thomas Amis Store in 1787 per Thomas Amis; First Account Book, Big Creek, Hawkins County, Tennessee 1782-1789 (volume 7, Number 2, August 1991.) JOHNSON AND ALLIED FAMILES OF POSSUM CREEK 1775 Oct 26: Isam Looney (Isham Looney) (Benjamin Looney) was born 26 Oct. 1775, probably in the lower part of Washington County, Va., or Tenn., shortly before his father and others, including Walter Johnson and Stephen Rentfroe, Sr., signed a petition protesting the erection of a court house. (The birth date comes from old family papers of grandson John Findley Looney) Isam Looney's boyhood must have been spent in Stanley Valley on sinking Creek, Possum Creek and Big Creek. http://home.flash.net/~johnsonl/p2_41_45.htm<http://home.flash.net/~johnsonl/p2_41_45.htm> Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: TENNEVA@aol.com<mailto:TENNEVA@aol.com> To: tnhawkin@rootsweb.com<mailto:tnhawkin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 04, 2009 5:44 PM Subject: [TNHAWKIN] Armstrongs On page 69 of the 1810 Washington County, Virginia census, find Baker Armstrong 26-45, female 26-45, female 10-16, 4 males 0-10. John Died by 1810. Likely with John Arnold came with his brother-in-law Thomas Armstrong and wife Amelia Cason. Anyway, in the 1820s, the sons of John Arnold deeded a tract of land to a Thomas Armstrong their father had agreed to sell to Armstrong. Mary and Amelia were children of Seth Cason. A Thomas Armstrong signed the marriage bond for the 13 Dec 1784 Prince Edward County, Virginia marriage of John and Mary so that Thomas would have been 21 at the time he made the bond. Apparent sons of the above John Arnold; Doctor, Claiborn and Stephen signed P/As recorded in Prince Edward County, Virginia to a John Arnold that was probably was their brother to act for them in collecting their share of the estate their grandfather John Arnold. 1. [TNHAWKIN] The 1790 election
    2. Dianne Ingram
    3. Thank you for the information on the 1790 election. It was fun reading all those names. My Andrew Ingram moved to Hawkins Co., TN. in 1791. He purchased his land from a John Wheeler. During the time Andrew lived in Hawkins County he served on juries with a William Cocke being judge of the judical court, Donalson and a Miller as clerks signing legal papers. Andrew served in the Civil War with William Lee. Andrew's son married a Lee. I believe the Ingrams and the Lees were close friends. A Miller Ingram (son of a Thomas Ingram) married a Rebecca Hawgood (Haygood), an Absolom Looney served on jury's with Andrew, I believe Absolom married an Ingram girl and very probably moved to Washington County, Ark. Henry Rains was only son of a Mary Ingram. I believe I remember reading of a Cloud in legal papers who was neighbor to an Ingram. So even though it probably is dry reading and I am no longer actively searching - it was fun - makes history come alive. So keep up the good work. Dianne Ingram in Oregon

    3. Why shouldn't these be posted on the list? They have to do with Hawkins County, TN. This is a hawkins County list. If postings do not pertain to me, I just don't read them. One never knows where a connection may be made. I think these emails should continue to come to the list. Sand

    3. While I realize many or most on this list don't live in Hawkins Co., TN, i is still beyond me why there is NO interest i a DAR or SAR Chapter here I have over 200 Rev. War Patriots buried in Hawkins Co., TN. Havebeen trying to charter the State of Franklin SAR Chapter for 2 years to no avail. I live nearly 1,000 miles round trip from Hawkins Co., but am willing to do what ever I can to form a SAR Chapter here. Could I get some help?????? Bob Hughes, Past Pres. TNSSAR "Do not go where the path may lead; Go where there is no path and leave a trail"---Emerson Opportunities never come to those who wait...they are captured by those who dare to attack. There are 2 kinds of people, those that do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the 1st group, there is less competition there.

    1. [TNHAWKIN] Armstrongs
    2. On page 69 of the 1810 Washington County, Virginia census, find Baker Armstrong 26-45, female 26-45, female 10-16, 4 males 0-10. Baker is listed just after Jacob DeVault who owned land in Washington County on Opossum Creek just about due north of today's Church Hill and about a mile from Hawkins County! The URL below should take you to page 69. _http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=7613&path=Virginia.Washing ton.Not+Stated.69&sid=&gskw=Solomon+Potter&cr=1_ (http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=7613&path=Virginia.Washington.Not+Stated.69&sid=&gskw =Solomon+Potter&cr=1) About 1800 John Arnold and wife Mary Cason came to Hawkins County. And Doctor Arnold did name a son Baker. Jim Brown _tenneva@aol.com_ (mailto:tenneva@aol.com) **************Make your summer sizzle with fast and easy recipes for the grill. 1. Re: [TNHAWKIN] TNHAWKIN Digest, Vol 4, Issue 147
    2. Yes, I am interested to see how the families might be connected. Having just had my brother's DNA processed - and finding that we probably do not relate to our last name - but someone else, I am eager to see how the surnames connect and possibly might be connected to my family. Thanks, Linda It is To bad people do not want to know about the families of Hawkins County Tennessee and how they can be connected together which gives others knowledge about where they might find clues on there own families. It should be noted that the Interest is in sharing of Information on the families of HAWKINS COUNTY TN, now wonder people are afraid to post information on this list. They can be attacked and told the sharing of Information is not what this site is for. Tony L. Johnson **************Make your summer sizzle with fast and easy recipes for the grill.
