Surnames: Lawson, Johnson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3339.1 Message Board Post: Doug, Let me propose a slightly different theory that is much simpler and fits better with the records. Martha Johnson (whoever she was) was the sister of the first wife of Martin Lawson who was likely the son of Burrell Lawson Sr. Burrell Jr was the John who was living next to Burrell Lawson Sr in 1840, and he was the son of Martin Lawson. So, Martha was the aunt of John Burrell Lawson. When Abner died, Martin married the sister of his dead wife. From the records that I have looked at for Banks and Hennis better support the idea that Clem living next to Banks in 1850 was the missing son of Hennis, and that both of them were the sons or grandsons of Clement Lawson or possibly sons of Lacey Lawson. Hi, this is my every so often query (or is it a desperate plea for advice?) Looking for the surname of Indianna ?? b abt 1812 TN md. abt 1831-4 Lesley MOYERS/MYERS/MYARS he lived at Gap Creek, at Bay's Mountain near the Hawkins line. His son said he was born in Hawkins Co., however, 1830 tax has Lesby (how they listed him) MYERS listed Greene Co. TN lived near Micheal MOYERS who md. Nancy WEST & Christly MOYERS who md. Lydia WEST Reuben WEST md. a MOYERS gal the MOYERS gal and Michael were said to be siblings, however I think Christian, Christly, Christopher MOYERS was related too as Michael MOYERS signed his marraige certificate. need the maiden name of Indianna. I can not locate a marraige or death on either one. I know approx death of Indianna, which was prior to 1870. by then they had moved to Meigs/Rhea Co. TN, Lesley remarried shortly after her death. there was one marraige in Wash. Co. TN which was the right time period, listing Jacob L. MYRES to France BELL not enough here to determine whether it is my couple. I would love to find an actual marraige for this couple and see who signed the liscense, who wit. or any details. does anyone have any info. on an Indianna who is the right age? or can help find a marraige? or any other info. on Lesley MYERS-MOYERS-MAYERS-MYARS, ect. thank you in advance, anything might help, Debbie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3339 Message Board Post: Hawkins County Circuit Court 1846 Abner D. Johnson and wife, Martha Johnson vs. Thomas Rutherford Suit for Slander Thomas Rutherford told Abner D. Johnson that one of Martha's children was actually a child of Martha's nephew named Burrell Lawson. The suit alleges that this is not true and that Martha's good reputation in the community was damaged by this statement. Note: Thomas Rutherford married Abner D. Johnson's sister and removed to Campbell County, TN after 1850. The father of Abner and his sister is Thomas Johnson who was born in New York state in the 1770's and was associated by marriage with several Lawson families. Abner Johnson died in 1848 and his widow, Martha, remarried to Martin Lawson the same year. This record implies that either Martha's maiden name was Lawson or she had a sister that married a Lawson because she had a nephew named Burrell Lawson. This particular Burrell Lawson is suspected to be Hennis Lawson's oldest son. He is on the 1850 census of Washington County Virginia alone, in 1860 he is in Pulaski County, KY, in 1870 he is in Hawkins County, TN near Hennis Lawson, in 1880 he is in Laclede Co., MO where he died in the 1890's.
