I just went back to the book and saw that I was wrong. I was on page 221 instead of page 211. It gives the Delp Cemetery in District #3 in the Hancock County Book II. I have Dodson-Delp Cemetery, near Edison in Hawkins County, TN written down for Aaron Templeton. But Eidson is in Hancock County--It says: S.A. Templeton 28 Sep 1822 18 Oct 1858 A.A. Templeton Co. 2nd TN CAV This may be the area where Hancock & Hawkins Counties come together. It says: "On Copper Ridge through a cedar thicket north of Mcgee Quated home to a pasture field..." Is this the correct cemetery? If not,............ In what cemetery are they burried in Hawkins County?

I asked my grandmother but she didn't know either. I think that the census taker may have made an error. Ambrose would have been in his early fifties when the census was taken so maybe the census taker made a false assumption. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Greene Lawson and wife, Sarah, are buried in the Lawson Cemetery in District# 4, Hawkins County, Tennessee, located on Bear Hollow Road. Mabel (Cobb) Price, daughter of Arthur Cobb and Nettie Lawson, call this man James Nathaniel Greene Lawson, "Greenberry" Lawson. There were four OTHER CHILDREN born to James Nathaniel Greene Lawson and Sarah Elizabeth Lawson, but they died when they were small and are not listed. Greene Lawson appointed guardian of Martelia Lawson, wife of Harvey G. Murrell, Bond seven hundred and fifty dollars, 31 August, 1921 (M.B.# 4, 1919-1931, page# 191). 1910 Hawkins County, Tennessee Census AGE SEX BORN FBORN MBORN #MD #YRSPRSTMAR LAWSON, Greene 20 M Tenn Tenn Tenn 1 2 YEARS " , Laura 19 F Tenn Tenn Tenn (1 child, 1 living) " , Garrett 6/12 M Tenn Tenn Tenn " , Samantha 67 F (11 child, 9 living) The Hawkins County Cemetery Book, probably Volume 3 or 4, lists the Lawson Cemetery in District# 4. Greene and Sarah Lawson are shown there, also, with a Chester Lawson who was born 3 June, 1916 and died 18 August, 1946. This may be a son. ******************************** The date of birth I have listed when you "edit" Sarah Lawson is probably what I received from Carolyn Lawson of Surgoinsville, Tennessee. BUT...I found one cemetery record for the LAWSON CEMETERY in District# 4 in Hawkins County, Tennessee thats states she was born 9 February, 1891. It lists the SAME date of death, 13 May, 1972, so I KNOW this is the SAME PERSON...Will check on this later... Lawson Cemetery (District# 4) located on Bear Hollow Road Lawson, Greene b. 5 May, 1887 d. 13 September, 1967 wife Lawson, Sarah b. 9 February, 1891 d. 13 May, 1972 Lawson, Chester b. 3 June, 1916 d. 18 August, 1946 Condition of cemetery- fenced and very clean Compiled 7 November, 1987 Sarah LAWSON was the daughter of Ambrose and Amanda Jane (MURRELL) LAWSON. Sarah and Green LAWSON had: 1. Garnie LAWSON born 1 August, 1908, who married to Gladys COPE. 2. Bennie LAWSON born 1909 in Tenn. 3. Nellie LAWSON born 1910 in Tenn. 4. Lorrene HOLLAND By the way, Martelia LAWSON, I have as being born 10 April, 1863 at Lee Valley. Her husband, William LAWSON was born abt 1857 in Tenn. William was a son of Newton and Ellender (GILBERT) LAWSON.
Martelia was married the first time to William Lawson, the son of Newton and Elinder (Gilbert) Lawson. She was called "Artilla" at times, I guess a sort of nickname. William Lawson and Martelia had five children together. 1. Verdie Lawson who married Tilson Rhoton. 2. Pearl Lawson who married Jack Thomas. 3. Nettie Lawson who married Arthur Cobb. 4. James (Greene) Nathaniel Lawson who married Sarah Elizabeth Lawson, the daughter of Ambrose and Amanda (Murrell) Lawson. 5. Mack Pete Lawson who married Flora Jane Smith. William "UNCLE BILL" Lawson died 8 July, 1905, at Lyon's View Hospital in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. He was buried in Knoxville, Tennessee, after the family had not contacted the hospital. Probably buried about 10 July, 1905. This is the same William Lawson that Harvey G. Murrell mentions in his application for a pension in 1915. He states of his present wife, Martelia, that she was married before to William Lawson and..."he did not know the date of their marriage. He died in a lunitick asylum at Knoxville, Tennessee. He never rendered any military service". Martelia remarried on 21 October, 1908, at Sneedville, Hancock County, Tennessee, to Harvey G. Murrell. They were married by J.C. Curry, M.G. Martelia survived Harvey G. Murrell at his death 25 January, 1924. She then remarried to Big John C. Burton. She is said to be buried at Pumpkin Valley in Hawkins County, Tennessee, on a mountain ridge...She is believed to have died about 1938. "Green Lawson (probably Nathaniel Greene Lawson) appointed guardian of Martelia Lawson, wife of Harvey G. Murrell, Bond $750.00, 31 August, 1921 (M.B. Book 4, 1919-1931, page 191)." The "Big John C. Burton" mentioned above is believed to be the Grandfather of Bert Lawson's wife, Georgia (Williams) Lawson. In a letter from Carolyn Lawson Rhoton of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, she says that the story on Martelia Murrell was, "Martelia was staying with James Nathaniel Greene Lawson and his family. James went to see if she could draw a pension off of her late husband, William Lawson. While he was gone she left. They hunted for her and when they did find her it was two or three months later! She had married Harvey G. Murrell. They had to return the money.
