Surnames: Trent Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3372.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Can you tell me how you know she was in Grainger County at the time the pension was filed? The affidavits for the pension applications all come from Hawkins County and the sworn statements were given to two different Hawkins County Justices of the Peace. Would she have had to file for the pension in the county she lived in? Do you happen to know her death date? I have seen it listed in several places as May 1843 but if the dates are accurate on the widows pension applications then her death date would have been later. Her sworn statements have her mark on them. Thanks!

    1. Search for Robert A. TRENT
    2. Helen Bumgardner
    3. A Robert A. TRENT has had headstones put up for my 3rd great grandfather Alexander BALLARD Sr. with wife Rebecca BALLARD (native Cherokee) at Creechs Chapel in Whitesburg, TN. This Robert A. Trent has had a most beautiful white Angel installed between the headstones with a bronze plack saying he is a 4th great grandson. I would be most interested in locating this gentleman and talking with him. I have searched for information on my grandfather for many years. We "assumed" he was buried at Creechs Chapel, however, we had no proof nor did we know the name of his wife. Is Rebecca the mother of all of his children or was she a 2nd wife. I do have some information that Alexander was married in prior to1805 (when he built a house in Whitesburg) to a Sarah WHITE daughter of Samuel WHITE of Powell Valley, VA. Alexander had a son born about 1798. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I would love to share information with Robert.

If I remember correctly (I will have to check my notes to be sure), Richard Trent sold Alexander Trent's property after he died, so who was Jane living with in Grainger County? David

    1. August 19, 1818 Will of John Walker of Hawkins County, TN
    2. I have uploaded an image of the subject will to my webpage at: http://members.aol.com/rwa5352802 Click on "Walker", and then on "1818 Hawkins County, TN Will of John Walker". DNA testing has confirmed that some of the Walkers of Knox, Perry, Carter, Breathitt and Floyd County, KY relate back to this John Walker. Although this appears to be the original Will it should be noted that the Hawkins County, TN Will Book carries a notation that some of these Wills were transcribed "after the Civil War". It is somewhat slow loading. Regards, Bob Walker Personal Web Page: http://members.aol.com/rwa5352802 War of 1812 Page: http://members.aol.com/rwa5352802/ftmeigs

    1. Church on street named Klepper Church Rd
    2. Patricia Hamill
    3. Would someone on this list know what church is located on Klepper Church Rd in Hawkins County, TN. I was aimlessly = kind of lost = driving around Hawkins County last Friday and stumbled upon Klepper Church Rd and there was a small well kept church like building which did not say it was a church but looked like one on this shortish road. I actually spoke to a man driving a red pick up truck but the only information he was willing to part with was that he could not count to more then ten when wearing his shoes. He was so cute to talk to I did not even know that I did not get any information on that church till much later. I suppose that I did not ask the right questions. But I would really like to know the name of that church - so if anyone can help with the Church's name that would be great. Pattie
