It's possible it's a case like I found of someone naming their son after a favorite neighbor. Census records might be able to tell you that. When was he born approximately?

It would have to be a Epperson female that married an Anderson. Several children of Swimpfield Anderson went to Bradley co, Tn and later his widow also went to live with her daughter. There were Hawk's and Malletts to name some son in law names.

I did put the surnames I am working on at the top of my post. They are SANDIDGE/EPPERSON/THURMAN/WOLFE/DOBBS Most of them came from Virginia to Tennessee, settling in Hawkins County, Tennessee first. Then my branch, Hudson Sandidge and Mary Ann Epperson moved to Bradley County, TN where they have many descendants to this day. Many of them went on to Texas and Oklahoma and now are all over the country. The name Sandidge was once spelled Sandwich, Sandage, and Sandridge. Many descendants continue to use the Sandridge spelling to this day, but not my branch. Maybe we have some relatives in common from Hawkins County? Reecy

I'd be glad to swap genealogy with you. How do they tie to your Anderson family? I'm out of Stephen and Elizabeth's line which ties back to David and Hannah Thompson Epperson of Albemarle Co, VA through David's son William Epperson who moved to Hawkins County, TN. That's where I was raised and I have a lot of Epperson genealogy. Beth

Only you two know who you are talking about. It is useless to the rest of us. I am interested in the Epperson's because they are somehow connected to the Anderson family of Hawkins co, Tn. So Stephen who?, Elizabeth who,? and Mary Ann who? Thanks

I found a deed in Scott County, VA on a piece of property belonging to Elizabeth which named all the children who was receiving a share and Mary Ann was named by her married name! That's the only piece of hard evidence that I know of that's ever been found but it's enough to undeniably prove she's Stephen and Elizabeth's daughter. I found it last summer. I can pull it out and make you a copy when I can get out if I hadn't already done that. Email me. Beth

    1. Genealogical Message Preparation
    2. All, After all the discussion I forgot a suitable SUBJECT Line. Situation remedied. Best, Hugh ___________________ In a message dated 06/24/05 4:29:52 PM, HFTHusma writes: << All, Every now and then I get the idea that some guidance needs to be published on genealogical message preparation. It seems simple enough to write a meaningful note. I receive 50 to 100 messages a day, so scanning the subjects is an important way of paring the number down to the meaningful ones. Of course, these are suggestions, but I think useful ones. SUBJECT: It would be ever so nice, if the subject line addressed the message content. Whether it be a person or a place, the time frame is critical. This gives the reader a chance to determine if the message is of interest to him/her. A subject of "hi" or "hello" or "HELP" does no not engender any interest. Personally, I delete them out of hand. TEXT: Seems to me the who, what, when, where and why are the essentials to a good message. Like any ad, brevity is a virtue. I seems a courtesy to send a "thank you" to the person who provided you with the info. The message would go to his personal Email address rather than to an entire List. Had to get it off my chest, again. Surnames: Bradshaw, Vowell, Argubright, Lewallen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACE/3383 Message Board Post: I am seeking information on John Bradshaw (born 1804-1810 in Tenn.) and his wife. Sintha (or Syntha)______, (born 1810-1815 in Tenn.) married probably in the early 1830's, and they settled in Anderson County, appearing in the census from 1840 through 1870 (Coal Creek in 1870 census). There were no Bradshaws in the census for Anderson County before 1840, so I assume John came from another East Tennessee county. There were Bradshaws in Grainger, Jefferson and Hawkins counties in 1830. John and Sintha's children were: George W. b. 1834 (probably marr. Margaret Bradshaw 12/29/1858); Talinda b. 1835 (marr. Clark Vowell 6/13/1856); Joseph H. b. 1837 (probably marr. S.M. Argubright 6/27/1856); Polly b. 1839; Mary b. 1840; Rhody b. 1842; John W. b. 1847; William A. b. 1849; Daniel b. 1853 (marr. Lodimia Lewallen 1/15/1871)

The Seals were concentrated in Hancock County, but were in other counties as well. Some used the Seal spelling, others the Seals spelling. Since both Jesse and James were often used in this family, unless you know the siblings names it might be difficult. His obituary might give the names of his siblings, but his death certificate would be your first step.
