Can anyone help me find the text of these Deeds? Charles Medlock, Hawkins Co, 1831, 175A, East Dist, Bk 16-Pg 507, grant#17040, with James Johnson Charles Medlock, Hawkins Co, 1831, 175A, East Dist, Bk 16-Pg 507, grant#17040, with James Johnson Louis Medlock, Hawkins Co, 1837, 50A, East Dist, Bk 21-Pg 480, grant#21516 Louis Medlock, Hawkins Co, 1837, 50A, East Dist, Bk 21-Pg 480, grant#21516 I suspect the deeds for Charles represent the son of Richard Medlock/Matlock. Deeds for "Lewis" are puzzling however. Loving Medlock/Matlock was another son of Richard, but he died in Jackson County, Indiana betw. 1830-33 and these deeds are in 1837..... Was Louis a son of either Charles or Loving??? Can anyone help me identify the names of the wife and/or children of Charles Medlock listed in the 1830 Census???? 1830 MEDLOCK CHARLES Hawkins County TN 073 2120001-012101. Charles also died in Indiana betw. 1830-33 and although DNA tests prove his line down to me certainly is a pure match from Charles' youngest son William Robert, we cannot identify the names of any of the rest of the family and it is as if they literally drop off the map........... Did Charles wife remain in Hawkins County??? What happened to the rest of his children???? Thanks in advance for any help! Jana Black

There were at least 5 different Nehemiah Hurleys existing in the 1790-1850 period and their genealogies don't match up. The Hawkins County Nehemiah (Miro) Hurley was 66 in 1850 and coexisted with the Carter County, TN and the Ohio Nehemiah Hurleys. The oldest Nehemiah Hurley was living in NC in 1790. I don't know if this was your Maryland Nehemiah or not.

Hello: I just think you are wonderful to offer to do a look-up, but since the name I am searching for is SMITH, I will understand if you withdraw the offer. I don't even know the exact SMITH.
