    1. [TNHAWKIN] State of Franklin TNSSAR Chapter
    2. Bob Betty Hughes
    3. As previously reported, we have our first 2 new apps into TNSSAR, which will soon be in Louisville, for membership in the State of Franklin Chapter. With well over 200 Rev. War Patriots buried in Hawkins county, there should be no problem in getting enough members to charter in this historic area of TN. Please be advised that your Patriot doesn't have to be buried in Hawkins County, this just adds a little more incentive for being a charter member. You may visit the NSSAR website and complete an application and mail to me. I will print it on the SAR paper and await your documentation and check. Best wishes and please advise if we can assist with your application. Bob Hughes, Past Pres. TNSSAR "Do not go where the path may lead; Go where there is no path and leave a trail"---Emerson Opportunities never come to those who wait...they are captured by those who dare to attack.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: pjcboy23 Surnames: Ferrell, Farrell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.hawkins/9350/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The following article from the Green Jones war mentions a H.F. Ferrell. Does anyone know who this is. I believe I recall Alice Manis Jones telling me that a Harvey Ferrell died in the Greene/Jones War, but I could be wrong. If so, I am thinking this would be Harvey son of Jackson and Margaret. Any help would be appreciated!! Ronny Ferrell [email protected] Rogersville Herald June 9, 1888 News From Camilla On the 2nd inst. the Jones party, nine or ten in number, surrounded Mr. Hamp Greene's house. About the dawn of the day the Greene's discovered the Jones party and sending their wives and children out, both parties began firing at about the same time, supposed to have been about 300 shots fired in succession on both sides, several shot through the clothes but none seriously wounded but one just above the hips and died last Tuesday. The Sheriff of Hancock County, George Wilburn and James Brooks and others, thirty-six in number came to arrest the Jones's crowd, but all had absconded but one, H.F. Ferrell, they took him to Sneedville jail to lay over until court. Think if we had such men as Sheriff Drinnon, Brooks and Milburn, we would have better times, which if ever needed it is now. H.F. Ferrell is a relative of this writer and why he didn't hightail it with the rest of them is beyond comprehension. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Bob Betty Hughes
    3. The first two member applications have been submitted to SAR. The Patriots are Jonathan Barnard and Seth Manis. In the case of Seth Manis with his 6 sons and 2 daughters, if we could only get a small % of his descendants, the State of Franklin Chapter would have huge numbers. If you are interested and descend from either of these 2 Patriots, please contact us. Bob Hughes, Past Pres. 2. Cindy Tyson
    3. Footnote.com is great place for research. They have an arrangement with the National Archives to put records from the archives on line. I learned of this site in PC Magazine. There is a free membership but to get access to everything you need the paid membership. At $59.95 a year its cheaper than ancestry.com. More records are being added all the time. Finally a place where we can get the actual documents.

    1. [TNHAWKIN] Andrew Ingram and Barbara Klepper
    2. Dianne Ingram
    3. I have a lot of information on Andrew Ingram. (b:abt. 1786 in Hawkins Co., TN I have a wife name of "Barbara". Per my records she was b: abt. 1799 in PA. Recently information has been posted on Rootsweb stating she was b: abt. 1773 in PA. Daughter of Jacob Benjamin Klepper b: 14 APR 1741-Germany. Mother: Rebecca b: 20 Aug 1743 in PA. Andrew and Barbara had children who's names included Jacob and Rebecca. Their first child was born in 1803. That would make Barbara 30 - so it is possible she is a 2nd wife. I know there are a lot of Kleppers in Hawkins Co., TN. Does any of this information match with yours? Dianne Ingram in Oregon __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
